Head in the flue and legs in the den
Dropped a gift right in the cat’s food bowl
Lit the fire, now he’s on patrol
Mama's laughin’, Daddy’s red
He’s got soot on his boots and a bow on his head
He does it every year, it’s always then

He rigged the lights from the barn to the fence
Used duct tape and prayer as main defense
Sparks flew high, cows lit up
Looked like Vegas on a syrup cup

Tangled up in the feed bin pen
The goats got bows, the dog got spooked
The tree lit up and the breaker looped
He’s still smilin’ through the mess
Singin’ “Deck the Halls” in camo vests
It’s Southern Christmas mayhem when
Grandpa Claus gets stuck again

He swears next year he’ll just sit down
But when December rolls back ‘round
He’s wrappin’ socks with duct-taped tags
And climbin’ roofs with turkey bags

Holdin’ cider with a candy pen
We wouldn’t trade his holiday show
For all the lights in Idaho
He’s a legend in these parts
With a sleigh pulled by rusted carts
